JAC Sustainability Audits & Surveys
The JAC audit process is a coordinated on-site audit and supplier development programme in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) based on a common verification, assessment and development methodology. It includes follow-up on corrective action plans (CAPs). Each member company has the responsibility, acting on behalf of the membership, to lead a complete audit process with a minimum of five suppliers. Supplier facilities are nominated by each JAC member and allocated by JAC’s General Manager, epi Consulting, to understand commonalities among the members’ supply chains while ensuring no overlap in the facilities being audited.
The Audit Management Platform (AMP) allows for all parties, including JAC members, auditors, suppliers and facilities, to effectively manage the sharing of Audit reports, findings and closure of CAPs.
By conducting audits and surveys, JAC aims to contribute to the overall improvement of sustainability practices and ethical standards across the ICT industry, fostering a collaborative and responsible approach among stakeholders.
Through the auditing program, JAC aims to:

Verify Compliance: Ensure that suppliers and entities across the ICT supply chain adhere to established supply chain sustainability standards and international norms.

Assess Practices and Enhance Transparency: Evaluate the sustainability practices and corporate social responsibility initiatives implemented by suppliers and telecom operators, as well as contribute to transparency of the ICT supply chain.

Identify Opportunities: Identify areas for improvement and opportunities for enhancing supply chain sustainability measures.

Facilitate Collaboration: Encourage collaborative efforts between suppliers and telecom operators to address sustainability challenges collectively.

Benchmarking: Establish benchmarks for best practices, allowing for the comparison of performance and the promotion of continuous improvement.

Drive Accountability: Hold organizations accountable for their commitments to sustainability, social responsibility and adherence to ethical standards.

Climate Change and Circular Economy Working Group

Defining good supplier practices: We work collaboratively to establish and promote industry-wide standards and guidelines for suppliers to adopt, aligning with the net zero challenge.

Building capacity: Through workshops, training sessions, and resources, we empower suppliers with knowledge and tools to measure, manage, and reduce their emissions footprint.

Driving collaboration: We foster partnerships with key suppliers, recognising that joint efforts are essential for effectively reducing emissions across the entire supply chain.
Due Diligence Working Group
Members of JAC are facing increased regulation, not just in the European Union, but also in many other global markets. Regulations such as CSDDD – The Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive – require corporations to meet obligations in area such as policies and management systems, risk assessment, preventative and remedial measures, grievance mechanisms, monitoring and verification of effectiveness and public reporting on due diligence.
In its role of providing a collaborative clearing house for CSR audits, JAC is helping its members meet these obligations in a cost effective and timely manner through sharing best practice approaches and collaborating on a common approach to address our shared supply chains.
The role of the Due Diligence Working Group is to scope out practical ways in which JAC can, through its collaborative approach, reduce cost, reduce resource requirements and accelerate the plans of its members to meet these requirements.
JAC Supplier Forum
The JAC Supplier Forum plays a pivotal role in creating a community-driven approach to sustainability and corporate social responsibility across the ICT supply chain, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and responsible business conduct.
This forum provides a structured environment for open communication, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration on various aspects related to best practice sustainability, knowledge-sharing, industry trends and updates, collaborative initiatives, joint problem-solving and networking opportunities.
Supplier Recognition and Awards
Supplier Recognition and awards are not only a commendation for past achievements but also to encourage an ongoing commitment to excellence. It promotes a culture of responsibility and accountability throughout the supply chain, contributing to a more sustainable and ethical business ecosystem.
